The open ended style of this rivet nut allows the stud, or male threaded component, to thread through the rivet nut without limiting the length or protrusion of the male threaded part. The knurled body of the rivet nut provides increased resistance to turning in the application â especially when they are installed into softer materials. The countersunk head is often chosen as it will sit flush within the application, leaving an aesthetically pleasing flat and smooth finish. The full countersunk head of this rivet is stronger than the reduced countersunk type but is also deeper meaning that it can only be used in material thicknesses greater than 1.5mm.
